Development and Outreach Director
Position Summary
The Development and Outreach Director is responsible for driving AMPL's growth through strategic fundraising, donor cultivation, community engagement, and public outreach. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development and Outreach Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's long-term sustainability and amplifying its voice amongst the recreation community.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Development
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, planned giving, and events.
Work with the Executive Director and board to identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit current and prospective donors, building a robust donor pipeline and maintaining strong relationships.
Outreach & Community Engagement
Plan and execute events and educational campaigns that align with AMPL's mission and engage the outdoor recreation community.
Oversee digital and traditional communications, including social media, newsletters, and website content, to enhance visibility and engagement.
Qualifications
Strong passion for public lands, multi-use recreation, and responsible stewardship; familiarity with issues in the Greater Teton/Jackson Hole region is a plus.
Experience with fundraising, sales, or similar relationship-oriented work.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated to plan events, take lead on social media marketing, and grant writing.
Willingness to attend evening/weekend events, travel regionally, and participate in outdoor activities to connect with the community.
Previous experience with or willingness to learn Google Suite, Canva, donor management software (e.g., Little Green Light).

2026 summer trail crew in Jackson, WY, Star Valley, WY, and Teton Valley, ID!
Hiring for both Trail Crew Leads and Trail Crew.

Trail Crew Lead
Please read all information and note the work location specifics that are listed in (BOLD)
Season: June - September
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 32 hrs per week.
Salary: $28 - $31 per hour, depending on experience.
Paid lunch time and breaks.
Flexible work schedule.
Gear reimbursement up to $800 per season, in addition to dirt bike fuel
Responsibilities:
Manage trail crew members.
Communicate directly with AMPL Programming Coordinator on daily/weekly/seasonal goals.
Clear logs and brush from trails using a chainsaw.
Improve tread by digging with hand tools and constructing draining.
Independently recognize and address issues on trails such as drainage, rideability, sightlines, etc.
Assist in identifying layout of future trails
Build or install trail infrastructure such as bridges, culverts, and turnpikes.
Keep track of your own work and hours.
Qualifications:
Management experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team. This is a physically demanding job.
Safe and efficient dirt bike or electric mountain bike rider. (Trail Crew in Star Valley, WY, are required to ride a dirt bike due to the distances required to efficiently clear trail)
Passion for public lands and a love of riding dirt!
Employees must provide their own dirt bike or full suspension E-Mountain Bike to access work areas. (Trail Crew in Star Valley, WY, are required to ride a dirt bike due to the distances required to efficiently clear trail)
Preferred Experience:
Single track trail building and maintenance experience.
Chainsaw experience (Forest Service chainsaw certification is required but can be obtained after hiring)
WFA, WFR, OEC, or EMT medical certifications and experience.
