Trail Crew Lead

Season: June - September
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 32 hrs per week.
Salary: $28 - $31 per hour, depending on experience.
Paid lunch time and breaks.
Flexible work schedule.
Gear reimbursement up to $800 per season, in addition to dirt bike fuel
Responsibilities:
Manage trail crew members.
Communicate directly with AMPL Programming Coordinator on daily/weekly/seasonal goals.
Clear logs and brush from trails using a chainsaw.
Improve tread by digging with hand tools and constructing draining.
Independently recognize and address issues on trails such as drainage, rideability, sightlines, etc.
Assist in identifying layout of future trails
Build or install trail infrastructure such as bridges, culverts, and turnpikes.
Keep track of your own work and hours.
Qualifications:
Management experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team. This is a physically demanding job.
Safe and efficient dirt bike or electric mountain bike rider. (Trail Crew in Lincoln County, WY, and Teton Valley, ID, are required to ride a dirt bike due to the distances required to efficiently clear trail)
Passion for public lands and a love of riding dirt!
Employees must provide their own dirt bike or full suspension E-Mountain Bike to access work areas. (Trail Crew in Lincoln County, WY, and Teton Valley, ID, are required to ride a dirt bike due to the distances required to efficiently clear trail)
Preferred Experience:
Single track trail building and maintenance experience.
Chainsaw experience (Forest Service chainsaw certification is required but can be obtained after hiring)
WFA, WFR, OEC, or EMT medical certifications and experience.
